Bobby Laughlin
Bobby Laughlin founded New Course Enterprises in 2015 after leaving a large financial services company.
New Course’s founding principal is to carefully innovate within the various capital markets it participates in to create unique value for investors and stakeholders. This has enabled New Course to incept multiple lines of business and scale from a bootstrapped start-up to a business with over $4 billion in development projects and $250 million assets under management.
Bobby now leads the team at New Course and is in charge of all firm-wide investment and development decisions. He is also responsible for maintaining a culture of innovation to ensure value creation continues to drive New Course’s growth.
Mr. Laughlin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Pepperdine University. Mr. Laughlin has passed both Series 7 and 66 exams with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc.. He is married and lives in Playa Vista, California.
Michael Root
Michael previously worked at DogVacay as there CTO, where he was brought in to restructure the technology and team for an acquisition. DogVacay was acquired in 2017 by Rover.com.
Before DogVacay Michael worked at Riot Games, where he worked for eight years and most recently served as Technical Director of the e-Commerce team. He helped grow Riot Games from a small startup to the world-class company it is today. He’s responsible for successfully launching the Riot Games Platform which services over 100 million users around the world, Riot Games merchandise store that now serves customers across 32 countries, 13 languages and 3 currencies, building an API solution for Riot Games, and hiring key developers and consultants to expand the organization?s impressive team.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is married and lives in Hermosa Beach, California.
Molly Laughlin
As the Director of Operations and Communications, Molly Laughlin spearheads both internal and external strategies across all New Course initiatives, including real estate development, media relations, marketing, team building, and the oversight of the company’s operational procedures. Before joining New Course, Molly served as an Associate at Sugerman Communications Group, a prominent communications and public affairs firm in Los Angeles, where she specialized in coordinating public affairs campaigns that navigated complex entitlement processes in California’s diverse municipalities.
Molly began her career in the press office of United States Senator Mark Warner during his successful re-election campaign in Virginia. She also worked the communications shop of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and spent time at the Huffington Post bureaus in both Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
Molly is an L.A. native and holds a B.A. in Political Communication from The George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs.
Shania Li
Shania brings extensive experience in capital raising for international real estate projects, real estate financing, and private wealth management. She has successfully secured over $100 million for a diverse range of developments, including immigration-related real estate projects across the United States, Portugal, Greece, Malta, Spain, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
As our Chief Operating Officer, Shania leverages over 12 years of executive experience to drive operational excellence and strategic growth. Her deep understanding of Real Estate developments and investments, informed by her personal experience navigating the residency by investment process, enables her to effectively align our initiatives with market opportunities.
Kanishk Sharma
Kanishk brings over a decade of leadership in large-scale construction and development, with a career portfolio exceeding $2 billion across commercial, residential, hospitality, and educational projects. He has held senior roles with a large U.S. based Multinational Developer and a top ENR-ranked General Contractor, he developed deep expertise in permitting, preconstruction, contract and risk management, and full-cycle project delivery.
Throughout his career, Kanishk has directed multidisciplinary teams of architects, consultants, project managers, and superintendents, consistently achieving successful outcomes on highly complex developments. His track record reflects a proven ability to align design vision with budget, schedule, and operational objectives.
As President of Development & Construction at New Course, Kanishk leads all aspects of development and construction execution, advancing projects from early planning through completion while driving operational excellence and supporting the firm’s continued growth across its expanding portfolio.
Ramiro-segura
Ramiro Segura joins New Course Enterprises with an impressive 19 years of real estate experience, bringing a wealth of expertise in accounting and financial management. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara with dual degrees in Accounting and Global Studies, Ramiro launched his career in real estate at Watt Companies in Santa Monica, California. There, he honed his accounting skills by assisting with annual budgets, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations for the company’s commercial portfolio.
Thereafter, Ramiro transitioned to Cohen Asset Management in Century City, California, where he further refined his financial acumen. His responsibilities included performing bank reconciliations, tracking mortgage payments, and maintaining schedules for insurance and property taxes, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
DJ-rajput
DJ Rajput is the President of EB-5 at New Course, where he leads the firm’s efforts to connect global investors with high-quality U.S. investment opportunities through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. With a unique blend of technology leadership, entrepreneurial experience, and personal insight into the immigration process, DJ brings a rare perspective to helping families pursue the American dream.
Before joining New Course, DJ built a successful career in Silicon Valley as a Product Manager working with leading technology companies. In these roles, he led the development of data-driven digital platforms, personalization systems, and AI-enabled products that served millions of users. His experience in product strategy, technology leadership, and cross-functional execution helped him develop a deep understanding of scaling complex systems and building high-impact solutions.
DJ’s connection to the EB-5 industry is deeply personal. Like many immigrants, he first came to the United States on an H-1B visa and spent years navigating the complexities and uncertainty of the U.S. immigration system while building his career in technology. Seeking a more secure and predictable pathway for his family, he ultimately pursued the EB-5 program himself and successfully obtained permanent residency through the process.
Having personally experienced the journey—from skilled worker visa holder to EB-5 investor and green card recipient—DJ understands the emotional, financial, and strategic considerations that families face when making life-changing immigration decisions. This perspective allows him to guide investors with empathy, transparency, and practical insight.
Today, DJ focuses on helping entrepreneurs, professionals, and global families navigate the EB-5 process with confidence. He works closely with investors, advisors, and project partners to ensure access to credible projects, strong compliance standards, and clear communication throughout the investment and immigration journey.
Beyond structuring investments, DJ is passionate about empowering immigrants to build long-term success in the United States. Having walked the same path himself, he is committed to helping others turn their ambitions into lasting opportunities.
Mathieu Leblanc
Mathieu is a financial professional with experience across investment banking, private equity, and international capital advisory. He has worked on transactions amounting to several billions of dollars globally.
He began his career in the leveraged finance group within the investment banking division of a major global financial institution and later joined the private equity team of one of the world’s largest institutional investors. Additionally, Mathieu led the U.S. expansion for a leading global immigration by investment firm, advising on international capital formation initiatives, structuring cross-border investment solutions, and supporting sponsors within the U.S. market.
As President of Capital Markets, Mathieu drives the structuring and execution of capital raises, manages relationships with institutional and private investors, and develops strategic partnerships to support the firm’s growth initiatives. His responsibilities also include expanding distribution channels, capital stack optimization, and guiding capital deployment initiatives across the U.S. market.
